Financing Partner Disclosure
How financing works when you ask us about monthly payment options for a Columbia septic project — and how we’re compensated.
Effective date: July 30, 2026
The Short Version
Columbia Septic Tanks is not a lender, a bank, a credit union, or a mortgage broker. When you ask us about monthly payment options for a septic project, we can introduce you to independent third-party lenders who may present loan offers you qualify for. All credit decisions are made by the lender, not by us. We may receive compensation for the referral. All loan terms come from the lender, and any offer is subject to their approval.
Financing partner activation on Columbia Septic Tanks is currently in a preparatory state; where financing is offered, the applicable lender’s identity and terms are disclosed at the time an offer is presented.
Who the Lenders Are
We work with a rotating set of third-party lenders and lending marketplaces — each a separate business, licensed and regulated in the states where it operates. Their names, license numbers, and terms are provided to you at the time an offer is presented. We are not affiliated with any lender other than through referral relationships.
What Columbia Septic Tanks Does and Does Not Do
What we do
- Ask you whether you would like to see monthly-payment options on the contact form or during a call.
- Pass the information you provide (name, contact details, ZIP code, and the amount you’re looking to finance) to one or more lending partners.
- Direct you to the lending partner’s application experience so you can review any offers you qualify for.
- Answer general questions about how the referral works.
What we do not do
- Set interest rates, APRs, fees, terms, or approval criteria — those come from the lender.
- Underwrite or approve loans.
- Pull your credit report.
- Collect payments, service loans, or handle disputes about your loan.
- Guarantee that you will be approved or that any specific rate or term will be offered.
How Credit Checks Work
Depending on the lending partner and the stage of the application, a credit check may be:
- A soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score, used to prequalify you and show offers you likely qualify for; or
- A hard inquiry, which may temporarily lower your credit score by a few points and is typically only performed when you formally apply for a specific loan.
Each lender discloses the type of credit check before it runs, and you must consent before it happens. Being introduced to a lender does not by itself trigger a credit check.
How We Are Paid
We may receive compensation from lending partners for referrals, applications, and funded loans. Compensation may be per lead, per completed application, per funded loan, or a combination. This compensation does not increase your rate or fees, does not come out of your loan proceeds, and does not affect whether the lender approves your loan.
We may also receive compensation from contractor partners when a referral results in a booked appointment or a completed job. See the contractor disclaimer.
Loan Terms, Rates, and Approvals
Loan amounts, interest rates, APR, fees, term lengths, monthly payment amounts, and eligibility requirements are set solely by the lender and depend on the lender’s underwriting criteria, current market conditions, and your individual financial profile. Any terms shown in advertising or on our site are examples only. Actual terms available to you may be higher or lower and may not be available at all.
Your Responsibilities
Before accepting any loan offer, please:
- Read the lender’s disclosures, including APR, total finance charge, total of payments, and any prepayment or late fees.
- Confirm the payment amount and how many months you will pay.
- Make sure the loan comfortably fits your monthly budget.
- Ask the lender any questions about the loan directly.
You are not obligated to accept any loan offer and are free to walk away at any point before signing the loan agreement.
Truth in Lending Act
All lenders in the network are expected to comply with the federal Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and applicable state consumer-credit laws. Written loan disclosures are provided by the lender, not by Columbia Septic Tanks.
Complaints and Disputes
Disputes about a specific loan — including servicing, fees, or credit reporting — should be raised with the lender directly. You may also contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or the South Carolina Board of Financial Institutions at consumerfinance.sc.gov. If the referral process itself was misleading, email contact@columbiaseptictanks.com and we will look into it.
